What is Nelson Mandela's legacy? Genocide Watch tells us simply this:

Nelson Mandela's Legacy: 210 White Farmers Murdered by Blacks (Per Year) Since 1994 in South Africa

What is Nelson Mandela's legacy?  Genocide Watch tells us simply this:

Since 1994, more than 70000 (and counting)white South Africans have been murdered of which more than 4000 were commercial farmers. Exact figures are very hard to come by as the South African police fail to report most of the murders that take place.
These numbers are thus conservatively estimated.
As the white population of South Africa was 4 434 697 according to the official state census in 1996, and more than 400 000 white South Africans have left the country, it could be estimated that nearly 2% of white South Africans have been murdered in the 18 years of democracy. Compare that to the 7518 black people that were murdered by the Apartheid government, which comes to a percentage of 0.02% of the black population.
(And no, you can't compare people killed by the security forces with people killed by civilians, but I'm sure that if you look up white on black civilian murders during Apartheid, it would still be very low indeed.)
There were roughly 128 000 commercial farmers in South Africa in 1980. Today there are 40000 commercial farmers left in South Africa.
Since 1994, more than 4000 farmers have been murdered and many more maimed, tortured, raped and assaulted. It was established that more white farmers die per year is South Africa than soldiers in Vietnam
Payback, right? These white people deserve their fate for having been born white in a world that hates the simple fact they dare to exist. [Two more S.African farmers killed: death toll ow at 3,037, Digital Journal, 2-17-2009]:
Two more South African farm dwellers were murdered - bringing the death rate for white commercial farm dwellers to 3,037 since apartheid rule ended in 1994. Killed at his smallholding were lawyer Doppie de Villiers; and livestock farmer David Greig.
A monument in South Africa to dead white farmers, just a momentary bump in the road to true black rule/hegemony in that nation
Doppie de Villiers' son, sheep farmer Johnnie, who lived on the same smallholding in the Bronkhorstspruit district north of Pretoria with his lawyer dad, who was 66, was deeply traumatised after finding his dad tortured and murdered. The father and son lived in homes on the same agricultural smallholding near Bronkhorstspruit. His father was a lawyer at the Cullinan law courts nearby.
These murder attacks don't only occur on farms: many -- mostly Afrikaner -- families are also attacked in exactly the same way in the cities and suburbs, in an upsurge of armed violence targetting this ethnic-European-minority.
South Africa has about 3-million Afrikaners, descendants of Voortrekker Boers who first arrived there as indentured farmers to produce fresh crops for the Dutch East India Company 's ships to the Spice Islands -- who stopped at the Cape of Good Hope to replenish their fresh food and water on these long voyages during the 17th century. The murdered Mr de Villiers' rugged farmer-son Johnny - who often went horseback riding with his dad -- burst into tears as he related to Afrikaans journalist Virginia Keppler of the Beeld daily how he had first 'run up and down like a madman' when he found his tied up dad lying just inside the front door in a blood-smeared hallway at 8am.
Remember the truth of lynching in the United States? [Lynchings in USA over an 86-year time-span vs. Homicides in Detroit over a 10-year time-span, SBPDL, 10-18-2013] Though Oprah Winfrey claimed “millions of black people were lynched,” it turns out only 3,446 blacks were lynched between 1882-1968:

From 1882-1968, 4,743 lynchings occurred in the United States.  Of these people that were lynched 3,446 were black.  The blacks lynched accounted for 72.7% of the people lynched

Out of the 4,743 people lynched only 1,297 white people were lynched.  That is only 27.3%.  Many of the whites lynched were lynched for helping the black or being anti lynching and even for domestic crimes.

So, over a span 86 years, 3,446 black people were lynched (many were lynched for actual crimes, mind you); that’s roughly 40/lynchings per year.

If we are to take the numbers of Genocide Watch seriously, in 19 short years more than 4,000 white farmers in South Africa have been murdered by the new ruling elite there, those black residents who democratically elected Mandela. That's 210 white farmers murdered/ per year by blacks in South Africa.  [Rural White South Africa: Afraid, and Armed, New York Times, 7-16-1998]:

Barely 15 minutes after Jeanne Pereira hit the panic button on her new radio system, she could see her neighbors' banged-up trucks tearing down the roads to her avocado farm here. Before the dust had settled, two bedraggled black men had surrendered. Laborers on the farm had spotted them kneeling in the tall grass, surveying the main house from the orchard.
''The response was so quick, it was very nice,'' said Mrs. Pereira, who is white. Within minutes of the capture, she had her maid handing out mugs of coffee to the farmers, who mingled casually in her yard, shotguns and automatic rifles on their shoulders. ''I was so nervous when my workers said they saw there were two boys out here with guns,'' she said.
The white farmers here, like many elsewhere in the country, are numbering their farms on color-coded maps and setting up command posts in their basements where automatic weapons, helmets, gas masks and bulletproof vests are at the ready.

Attacks on the farmers have been mounting. In the last four years, nearly 500 have been killed. Since January there have been 371 attacks on farms resulting in 75 deaths. Some assaults have been particularly brutal. In May, for instance, a 60-year-old farmer recovering from a hip replacement operation was tortured and had his throat slit; he died as he sat in his wheelchair. The intruders then waited an hour for his 52-year-old wife to get home; they raped her and killed her, too.
The farmers may well be feeling the heat of a crime wave that has swept across this country. But many farmers believe that the attacks are more calculated -- the work of black militants aiming at a group that remains among the most right-wing in the country. The gang that assaulted the 60-year-old farmer, Donald de la Field, took nothing but a revolver and left behind a note saying ''Kill the Boers,'' a phrase that was popular during the struggle against apartheid.
In March, men who attacked a farm outside Pretoria told a mixed-race woman who tried to protect her white husband that they killed only whites, not Coloreds, the South African term for those of mixed race. In other incidents, the attackers reportedly claimed they were members of Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation), the armed wing of the African National Congress when it was fighting apartheid.
It's not Genocide Watch's reporting we should worry ourselves with; it's that we are watching genocide take place in South Africa right now that we should worry ourselves with.

That's Nelson Mandela's legacy.

Worse: no one wants to know the reality of black on white crime in America, which would be blamed on the legacy of slavery and Jim Crow (as the murders of white South Africans is blamed on the legacy of Apartheid by media outlets like Reuters [Farm murders highlight apartheid's toxic legacy in South Africa, Reuters.com, 11-28-2012])
