Farmer and daughter shot and injured, mother chases off attackers from farm, Ugie
SAPS arrested the wife for 'handling her husband's gun -- and ambulance did not have enough fuel to transport victims to hospital, says Afriforum spokesman Ian Cameron
SAPS wanted to arrest the Afrikaner farm-wife who chased of attackers of her husband and daughter at Ugie, 3 April, reports Suné van Heerden op 3 April 2014
"The SAPS wanted to arrest a woman who fired towards farm-attackers after their homestead was attacked at 21h00 on Wednesday-evening by three armed black males. The husband and the daughter were shot and injured and the wife grabbed her husband's firearm and fired back at the attackers, injuring one of them. "The SAPS wanted to arrest the wife because she fired HER HUSBAND'S GUN. said Ian Cameron, head of community safety at Afriforum. "They would only release her after threats of legal action were issued to the cops. T|he two victims could not be transported by ambulance to hospital 'because the ambulance did not have enough fuel' said Cameron. They were taken to Maclear for temporary medical care until they could be taken to Queenstown hospital.
